Fatal Four Campaign
Ghamkol Sharif Mosque is working alongside West Midlands Fire Service, East Local Community Safety Partnership and West Midlands Police in a campaign called 'Fatal 4' to raise awareness about road safety which is being launched today (1st July 2016).
The focus of the campaign for this month is speeding. This is one of the four most common causes that lead to people being killed or seriously injured.
Speeding is a particular concern for our local community and attendees. Too often people speed on and off Small Heath Highway and cause serious and fatal damage. It must be noted that our religion obliges us to be safe and to be a means of safety for others.
We urge everyone, particularly young drivers to firstly be aware of the dangers of speeding and secondly to take time and plan their journeys to ensure their safe arrival to the Mosque and/or elsewhere. Coming early to the Masjid and waiting for a prayer is extremely virtuous and highly commended by our Prophet (peace be upon him).
Speeding only takes a negligent split second to cause life-changing consequences for a whole community.
